Bus Purchase Adjustment
-
Last year, the Board all approved an agenda item to purchase a bus in line with our annual practice. At that time, the quote for a 72-seater was $149,895.00. Recently, when we checked in on the delivery timeline, we were told that production on this model was delayed. In further discussions, the company offered us the option to upgrade to a 78-seater. The difference in price is $6,000, but they have agreed to split that difference with us. For an additional $3,000, we can move forward with the larger bus at a total cost of $152,895.00.
-
Approved an additional $3,000 to secure a 78-passenger bus (instead of a 72-passenger).
-
Annual bus purchase practice ensures our fleet stays modern and safe.
-
-
Instructional Calendar Revision
-
The TEA denied our waiver request to count professional development days as instructional time.
-
To meet the state-required 75,600 minutes, BGISD will convert the following into instructional days:
-
Monday, November 17th, 2025
-
Monday, December 15th, 2025
-
-
These adjustments add 998 minutes, bringing the district total to 75,669 instructional minutes.
