Building the Future – Together

The Blooming Grove ISD administration team has been working diligently with our architects to put together the absolute best plan for the future of our students, staff, and community. We are excited to provide you with some important updates on the progress of our bond projects.

Elementary School Additions & Renovations

At the August 28th Board Meeting, the BGISD Board of Trustees received a presentation and approved the combined Schematic Design and Design Development for the Elementary School. Claycomb Associates Architects have now been authorized to proceed into the Construction Document Phase.

Impact: This milestone keeps bond-funded projects on schedule, ensuring expanded and modernized learning spaces for our students while maintaining transparency and accountability throughout the planning and construction process.

Key Features of the Elementary Design

The approved design reflects the ideas and mission established months ago by the Facility Advisory Committee. We are proud to share that the following priorities were incorporated into the plan:

  • Improved Safety: Enhanced fencing and upgraded playground equipment to provide secure and modern play areas.

  • Traffic Flow & Parking: Better traffic circulation and expanded parking for staff and visitors, creating safer and more efficient access to the campus. The new design creates two entry points and two exit points, significantly improving traffic circulation and making drop-off and pick-up safer and more efficient. Expanded parking will also better serve staff and visitors.

  • Office Expansion: A new, modern office area at the front of the building. This frees up a projected six classrooms for future growth, ensuring the campus can utilize its space effectively as needed.

  • New Nurses Station: Relocated to the front of the building, giving parents and sick children easy access while improving efficiency in daily health services.

  • Modern Conference Room: Conveniently located at the front of the building for easy community access and engagement.

  • Updated Staff Workroom: A modernized and functional space designed to better support teachers and staff in their daily responsibilities.

  • Outdoor Learning Spaces: Plans are underway to create engaging outdoor learning areas where students can learn, collaborate, and grow in unique settings.

The design team has worked hard to ensure these improvements meet the needs of our campus while sticking to the core values discussed in our  facility advisory committee meeting, and it looks amazing!

Looking Ahead

As we move forward, our commitment remains the same: to provide safe, modern, and inspiring facilities that will serve our students today and for generations to come. The community’s investment in our schools is already taking shape, and we are proud to continue updating you as each project progresses.
