BGISD Community,

After careful consideration, BGISD has decided to close school tomorrow, January 31, 2025, due to the rising illness in our district. The district will evaluate when this day will need to be made up and will communicate this plan to the community once a decision is made.

Prevention:

Our Maintenance & Operations team will be providing each classroom with a spray bottle of disinfectant and cleaning rags. Teachers will use these supplies to sanitize desks, door handles, and other frequently touched surfaces as needed. Our staff will also be fogging the entire district with disinfectant to attempt to break the cycle.  According to the CDC, the best way to combat the spread of illness is through disinfecting hard surfaces and practicing good hand hygiene.

School Events & Athletics:
All after-school events scheduled for this afternoon are canceled. The home basketball games scheduled for tonight in our gym will  be canceled and will not be rescheduled at this time. However, our Varsity basketball teams will still travel to Grandview and we are coordinating with Grandview ISD regarding our district closure.

We hope that this four-day break will help stop the spread of illness and prevent major outbreaks upon our return. Thank you for your cooperation and commitment to keeping our students and staff safe.
