Congratulations to Sofia Cano Quiroz whose photograph “Rough Morning” placed 3rd at the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo Gary L. Wilson Photography Contest.
Sofia was awarded a $3,500 scholarship at the awards ceremony held on Saturday, October 24, 2026.
The Gary L. Wilson Photography Contest, honoring a 30-year FWSSR Breed Superintendent, accomplished photographer, rancher, educator, and lifelong advocate for agriculture was a new category in this year’s FWSSR Art Contest. This contest celebrates Gary’s legacy and the things he cherished most: agriculture, livestock, people, and the stories captured through a photographer’s lens. Sofia feels very honored to have been recognized in this inaugural group of high school student photographers.
The finalist entries will be on display from January 15 to February 6, 2027, at the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo in the Amon G. Carter Jr. Exhibits Hall Concourse.
