Construction Update: A Full Look at the New High School & Junior High Addition
This week, we want to take a closer look at one of the most exciting pieces of our bond construction, the new addition that will completely transform the front of Blooming Grove High School and Junior High!
This addition is about much more than creating a new look for our campus. It is designed to improve how we serve our students, staff, families, and community every single day.
A major part of the project is the addition of seven new state-of-the-art classrooms, providing modern instructional spaces that will give our students and teachers even more opportunities to learn, collaborate, and grow.
We are also excited about the opportunity to centralize our High School and Junior High office staff into one location. These two campuses already share many important resources, including our Police Chief, nurse, counselors, academic advisors, and other support staff. Bringing these services together in one centralized area will allow us to operate more efficiently while making it easier for students and families to access the people and resources they need.
The centerpiece of the entire addition will be our new Media Center. We want this to be much more than a traditional library. It is being designed as a flexible space where students can learn, staff can collaborate, and our community can come together.
One of our favorite features will be the social stairs located within the Media Center. This area will create a unique gathering space for presentations, student activities, meetings, collaboration, and everyday interaction. We believe it will quickly become one of those special places on our campus where people naturally want to gather.
Safety is also a major part of this addition. Built into the new construction will be a storm shelter designed to provide protection for all of our Junior High and High School students when needed during severe weather. We hope it is a space we rarely have to use for its intended purpose, but knowing it is there will provide another important layer of safety and security for our students and staff.
That is what makes this addition so exciting. It brings together instruction, student services, safety, collaboration, and community under one roof. We believe this new front entrance and addition will serve our students and staff extremely well while also creating a space that our entire Blooming Grove community can be proud of and utilize.
We are excited to watch this vision become reality!
